Sir,

With reference to my Despatch No. 335 of the 3rd September last, I have the honour to transmit the usual Quarterly Financial Returns for the period ending 30th September, 1904.

2. The revenue collected shews an increase of $1,060,879.85 over that received during the corresponding period of last year; the Expenditure also shews an increase of $702,544.62 when contrasted with the figures for the same period.

3. The Estimated Revenue for the first three quarters of this year may be stated as $4,956,231, and according to the returns the revenue received is made to appear as less than the estimate by $143,411.75. The Estimated Expenditure for the same period was $4,898,511.75 whereas only $4,601,062.67 has been expended thus effecting a saving of $297,449.08 on the Estimate. But the Estimated Revenue from the Post Office wrongly includes $87,000 as explained in my Despatch forwarding the Estimates for 1905 while the profit on Subsidiary Coin which is calculated to date at $372,673 has not...
